Small Data Garden x IXT: Connected hardware, ready to scale
How a Finnish IoT hardware company found a connectivity partner they are confident recommending to their customers across Europe and globally.
About Small Data Garden
Small Data Garden is a Finnish IoT company with over ten years of experience building connected sensing solutions. Based in the Nordics, they design and manufacture their own devices, including the IOTSU® indoor air quality sensor solutions and the IOTSU® IMPACT N12, a smart bridge for connecting physical systems to the cloud.
Their solutions serve real estate, utilities, schools, and industrial environments. To date, they have shipped more than 70,000 devices to customers across Finland and Sweden, with expansion into Germany and Austria underway.
Small Data Garden sells through distributors and direct to customers. Their devices are maintenance-free, long-lasting, and built for easy installation. No gateways. No wires. No complexity.
The challenge
Growing a hardware business across borders is straightforward until connectivity becomes the bottleneck.
Small Data Garden's devices run on NB-IoT and LTE-M. This works well in Finland and in a limited market area. Expanding beyond those boundaries introduced a different problem. Their customers needed connectivity to work from day one, in any country, without having to navigate carrier contracts or SIM logistics themselves.
Traditional telecom operators were not built for this in new areas. Conversations can take too long. Pricing is hard to explain to an end customer. Support assumes a level of telecom expertise most buyers of IoT hardware might do not have.
Small Data Garden needed a connectivity partner they could stand behind. One they could recommend with confidence, knowing their customers would be taken care of on the other side.
The solution
Small Data Garden now recommends IXT as their preferred connectivity partner for IOTSU® devices outside their current home market. When a customer is ready to connect their hardware, IXT is the first call Small Data Garden points them toward.
The IXT Global SIM supports NB-IoT and LTE-M across 600+ mobile networks in 190+ countries. A device configured in Finland connects just as reliably in a German warehouse or an Austrian school building. No reconfiguration. No carrier negotiations.
Once connected, the SIMs can be managed through the IXT Connection Management Platform (CMP). From there they have real-time visibility into every device, data usage, and connectivity status across their fleet. They manage, suspend, and monitor SIMs themselves, without raising a support ticket with anyone.
For Small Data Garden, that matters. Their reputation sits behind every device recommendation they make. A connectivity partner that leaves end customers confused or unsupported reflects badly on the hardware. IXT removes that risk.
"We needed a partner that thinks with us, not just sells to us. IXT understood our devices, our customers, and what it means to scale. That made the decision straightforward." Timo Liukko, Co-founder, Small Data Garden
The relationship began with Arvin Farati, Global Sales Manager at IXT, who connected with the Small Data Garden team early in 2026. Within weeks, terms were agreed and onboarding was underway.

"Our customers want connectivity that works. They do not want to manage SIM logistics on top of everything else. IXT gives them global coverage and full visibility through their own portal. That is something we are comfortable recommending." Sander Soitu, Senior Solution Specialist, Small Data Garden
"Small Data Garden is expanding fast across Europe. Their customers are deploying devices in new markets and they need connectivity that works from day one, without complexity on either side. that is exactly what IXT is built for. We are glad to be the partner they trust to make that happen." Arvin Farati, Global Sales Manager, IXT
The results
Small Data Garden now has a connectivity partner they actively recommend. When an end customer asks how to connect their IOTSU® device, the answer is straightforward.
That simplicity has real commercial value. Every time a distributor or buyer hesitates because connectivity feels complicated, it slows down a sale. With IXT as the recommended option, Small Data Garden removes that friction without taking on connectivity management themselves.
End customers get a SIM that works globally and a platform they control. Small Data Garden gets a partner they trust. As their footprint grows across Europe, IXT scales alongside them.
